Horizons
We have moved into Near Earth Orbit. Four huge spinning tin cans -- orbital platforms -- shelter the third generation of 'upsiders' born beyond the grip of Earth. Posessions of Earth, residents of New York Up, Euro Two, New Singapore, and Dragon Home are beginning to chafe under the control of 'downsiders'. The four space elevators bring up goods and tourists, carry down manufactured goods created in microgravity, or refined metals mined in the Belt, but the platforms are nothing more than useful colonies.
When Ahni Huang chases her brother's assassin up the Elevator to New York Up, she is intent of achieving legal vengeance. But when she walks straight into an ambush and flees into the hydroponic core of New York Up, she finds much more than she bargained for. There she meets Koi, the carefully kept secret of the platforms. She also meets Dane Nilsson, the mysterious keeper of the hub garden -- or is he more than that?
As Ahni begins to unravel the tangled web of deceit within deceit, humanity reaches a cross-road, and its choice of path is far from clear.
